The Fashion Class Receives stem.org Accreditation Trustmark

BY Kerri Quigley, September 10, 2026

The Fashion Class, a leading provider of sewing and fashion design programs for children and teens, has been awarded the prestigious STEM.org Accreditation™ trustmark and recognized as a Top 5% “Best In STEM” 2024-2025 organization. This designation highlights The Fashion Class’s commitment to integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education into its innovative curriculum.

STEM education emphasizes interdisciplinary learning by blending these four disciplines into real-world applications. Through hands-on experiences in sewing, garment construction, and design technology, The Fashion Class fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity—key skills that align with STEM principles.

“We are thrilled to receive STEM.org Accreditation and be named a Top 5% ‘Best In STEM’ organization,” said Kerri Quigley, Founder of The Fashion Class. “This recognition validates the work we do to teach children the technical aspects of fashion—like pattern making, textile science, and machine operation—while also encouraging creativity and self-expression. Sewing is more than just an art; it’s a technical skill that incorporates mathematics, engineering, and problem-solving, making it a perfect fit for STEM education.”

I went on to attend Parsons School of Design (for business), and in 2010, I founded The Fashion Class, a space where kids and teens can explore their creativity through sewing and design.
